Sublime to the Ridiculous

After the terrific storms last night, we awoke to no electricity, and a tree just lifted from the ground in the woods behind our house. The root of the tree was just pulled out of the ground as it fell. A man came and cut away some branches so that pedestrians could use the pathway. You will see the trunk on the second photo. There is further damage, as the trees that were next to it have been weakened and are leaning on each other.
On the other hand, the sun is out at the moment, and the spring flowers are starting to look good despite the rain. Our first daffodil is out now too!
