All packed up
We seem to have been moving offices for so long now I'm bored of it and I expect so are you! Still, everything is now packed safely into crates (hence this blip) and when I next go to work it'll be to the new place. It feels like the end of an era, in more ways than one with my new 4 day week.
Having done most packing yesterday, I was able to get some decent work done for one client at short notice which was a bonus. I then had a 3 hour (yes 3 hour!) meeting for my other job as a company director of a Business Improvement District. It was, at least, structured and fruitful in that important decisions were made without too much bloodshed, although there was still some.... I kept out of most of it by volunteering to take the minutes!
It was then back to the office for some final tidying and to make sure my heavily pregnant colleague didn't have to do any lifting. Luckily someone had already helped her pack up, which was great. So I said goodbye to my room for the last time, ready to move on to our bright new building and to embrace more modern working methods. At least that's the plan.
On my way home in the most torrential downpour, I caught up with my stepmum on the phone as she got back from 6 weeks in Kenya staying with my brother today. She said the view from the plane on the way into Heathrow was simply water all the way and I said she could've brought some better weather with her. I missed her more than I thought I would and we'll be catching up and viewing her (apparently blurred!) photos tomorrow.
I then spotted my lodger's car outside the pub, which was a surprise as I knew he had arranged to go home to Lincolnshire to take his wife out for a Valentine's dinner. It turns out she's not well so he was taking his time but has gone now so I can get into the pjs right now as I had planned! Happy Valentines everyone.
