Crocus reticulatus
One of the reasons I love crocuses is the jewel-like beauty of the flowers, perfectly illustrated by this little gem. Todays flowers were raised from home collected seed sown in 2005. The original plants came from the borders of Greece but it has a widespread distribution across NE Italy; Croatia; Serbia; Macedonia; Bulgaria; Hungary; Romania; Crimea; Caucasus and Turkey.
A grim day outside so this is a kitchen blip :-)
