Operation day

As I got postponed from yesterday I was scheduled to go to theatre first thing today. But as it's an emergency theatre that didn't quite go to plan! I was eventually taken down just before 12pm and prepped only to be told an emergency had come into A&E and they'd have to assess that first. I waited for nearly two hours then they decided to take me back to the ward. After ten minutes back on the ward I got taken back down to theatre and eventually had the op. So my gallbladder is gone. The wounds are very sore just now but that's to be expected (and I managed to burst one going to the loo - blood everywhere!) and I have a drain from my tummy (really gross!). But at least it's over and done with now.

My brother Michael visited in the evening and brought lots of goodies including new PJs and slippers so that was nice. Just need to speak to my doctor now to see how it all went and when I can get back home. I'm hoping before Sunday, which is my birthday, but thinking that's maybe not likely.
