New Year, New Life

Damned be the soldier...

As I was on my way to Warren Street to catch the bus home this evening I heard the sound of this protest just around the corner in Grafton Way - outside the Venezuelan Consulate.
It was quite a low key affair, a small group of protesters shouting on the opposite pavement and a few police guarding the doors of the Consulate. I had no idea what it was about but a quick google when I got home revealed that it was to do with the death of a protester in a demonstration in Caracas today. (Sorry, this is a link to news on Yahoo. I'm not a fan of Yahoo since they decimated Flickr last year but it was the best news item I came across.)
Not a great photo but it's topical and probably more interesting than the puddle, albeit a puddle with a reflection of a Georgian terrace, that I would otherwise have posted today.
It also shows that there are other things going on in the world apart from the current UK weather crisis. I seem to be avoiding the worst of it in my North London bubble but a facebook friend is stuck on a Virgin train in Warrington. Awaiting updates to see if she makes it home tonight
