Porty People and Places
The day dawned bright and sunny. It did not last. We took advantage of the window in the weather to head to the Pentland Hills on the southern boundary of our city for a wintry hill walk. The windchill made the high level walking far from pleasant and we were pleased to return to the shelter of the glen before the snow set in. Having said that, our weather here is nothing by comparison to the terrifying storms that are continuing to ravage the south of Britain. The scenes of flooded homes on TV are depressing to watch ; one can barely begin to imagine what that must be like for those whose lives have been washed away by these unprecedented floods.
