Red Letter Day

We braved the elements today to go looking for fungi at Longshaw Estate. We found several species to add to our list. What made it especially good for me was successfully IDing a Bleeding Conifer Crust, and although it was not my find, this sighting of a Scarlet Elf Cup - a first for me, and something I've wanted to see for many years now. It was a case of grabbing a few shots in the pouring rain, and it was only when I got them onto the computer that I noticed the reflections of the trees in the wet surface of the fungi.
