Month of the Duck Duck of the Month
Today we went to Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust's flagship reserve at Attenborough. It's a great place, with lots of waterfowl in particular as it consists of a number of old gravel pits and is also bounded by the mighty River Trent. Water levels were very high and we had to paddle though some flooded pathways. One of the highlights was seeing a bittern, but we saw 35 different species. This wonderful-looking red crested pochard and his lady were kindly showing well near the visitor centre.
