Down on the 0830 to Kings Cross for a couple of nights away from home.

Really enjoyed the Martin Creed show 'What's The Point Of It?' at the Hayward, plenty to smile at and be genuinely amused by from the moment you step in past...I won't spoil it. A tenner well and truly spent.

Now, I've bought and listened to plenty of records by Bill Callahan, in both his Smog and solo guises over the years, so I was looking forward to seeing him at the Royal Festival Hall having never actually seen him in person but the whole thing disappointed a bit. A little flat, a little on the dull side in places truth be told, and far too much soloing from his guitarist. Not bad exactly, but like I say, not quite the experience I'd been hoping for. But, there was a very enjoyable free gig from the previously-mentioned Martin Creed and his band going on downstairs that we caught the second half of. A lot of fun and Martin looked like he was having an absolute blast.

Bit of music, nowt to do with Bill or Martin, summat I was listening to on the train.

Brutalism.
