It isn't quite 15 February yet, that will be the anniversary of the fall of Singapore in 1942, but I had some time today so I visited the Kranji War Cemetery. It's quiet, well away from the city, very close to the Causeway to Johor and Malaysia, it's immaculately maintained and exudes an air of tranquility. It is actually a beautiful place. It's just a tragedy that there has to be a war cemetery.
