Bad Olympic Sportsmanship

Another picture for the AOG...Debbi's Alternative Olympic Games.

Oglethorpe the osprey was competing in the 10km biathlon...a strange and grueling event where you fly, fly, fly...then land in 3 different spots to shoot a rifle at some targets.

The Thorpster opened up a huge lead...easily outdistancing his avian competitors. Fly and shoot...fly and shoot...fly and shoot...a masterful performance.

He was SOOOO far ahead after the last shooting spot, that he dipped into the local lake to pick up a tasty morsel...thinking that the specks on the trout kinda looked like the Olympic rings.

He was patiently waiting on the podium with the fish, when his fellow racers finally showed up. But...the judges stepped in.

"Gold...gold...gold. Where's my gold?"

"Sorry Thorpy...you've been disqualified for leaving the course."

"Are you kidding me? Did you see how far I was ahead? I could've caught 5 fish, and still beat these guys."

"That has no bearing on this. Rules are rules...and you broke the rules."

"HERE'S WHAT I THINK ABOUT YOUR RULES! YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME!!!" At that point...Oglethorpe the osprey...let it fly.

An ugly scene...especially for the spectators below.

Moral of the story? Get the rules...know the rules...follow the rules.
