"Ski" Jumper

My second installment in the AOG...Debbi's Alternative Olympic Games.

After waiting 4 long years since wiping out in Vancouver, B.C., Gretchen the giant egret awaits her turn in the ski jump. Her coach Horace awaits at the bottom of the hill. The officials give her the go ahead.

Gretchen (Gert to her coach) races down the branch slope...looking to nail the takeoff.

She hits it...right on the button. Horace yells from below..."YES GERT!!! YES!! NOW...FLY...MY BABY...FLY!!!"

Then...things go horribly wrong. Gretchen spreads her wings in the air. Coach Horace watches...stunned.

He finally snaps back to attention. "WINGS IN GERT...WINGS IN! PUT YOUR FEET OUT...NOT YOUR WINGS!!!"

Gretchen can't adjust. Sadly...oh so sadly...another 4 years...wasted.

I went to the "wild" church this morning. (Loud heavy music, and the preacher is piped-in on a screen), then a l-o-n-g walk along the ocean, followed by a craft show with entertainment.

I put quite a few other pictures on my FLICKR PAGE. A ROSEATE SPOONBILL!! WOO-HOO!! And...bathing pelicans.
