Stonehenge
Nicholas: Once you've seen one rock, you've seen them all, right Sean?
Sean: B'aaaah!
Our long weekend now drawing to a close, & with Alan at work, Susannah at school, Lauren at home poorly, & Clare busy as ever, Jenny & I had a moment to chill this morning & I finally had the chance to catch some of the Olympics in Sochi. Figure skating (it's an odd one, but gets really exciting toward the final laps) & curling (yeah, it's pretty good). I was also able to stick to my promise & throw a few balls in the garden with Mojo, the Benson's black lab, who is just as sweet heart & was suitably pooped when came back in.
We moseyed on back, via a pub lunch in Thruxton, Hampshire & a quick blip-stop at Stonehenge. Whist there were quite a few paying patrons circling the prehistoric monument, they were also more than a couple cheeky wotzits & druid dodgers traipsing the nearby dirt track at the edge of the grounds. Incidentally this vantage point had perfect views of the stones, if you don't mind a sheep or 5o flocking in the foreground that is.
Somewhat fittingly, we watched National Treasure this evening. Although a different subject, I'm sure similar mysteries & legends could be drawn from this historic sight. And it turns out, Nicholas Cage isn't half bad. In this film.
