Griminish
A decent day again and so off to Griminish on the northern end of North Uist. A couple of hidden sandy bays and a small section of machair that has been lived on from Iron Age times if not before. Some evidence for this came from some pottery sherds that the rabbits had unearthed. For the first time I found a piece with a pattern that looks like it was created with a fingernail about 1800 years ago.
There was still a large swell which I tried to capture - in the background again is Toe Head on Harris. This was taken on a shingle storm beach absolutely packed with wood. Sadly too far form the car to carry any of it back for the fire.
Eventually started the shelves today - as ever with these things once you stop procrastinating, it isn't as bad a job as you think. That is not to say that I have finished yet....
