Jumping Jack Flash

Just a quick snap, and slightly out of focus, but this little chap was jumping up and down to greet me as if I were his best ever buddy - and we hadn't even been introduced! Maybe he recognised a potential dog-walker.

Took the long route up to the hills to buy some household stuff at a megastore. Purchasing quite successful, but oh boy! the traffic. Three quarters of an hour to get across the bridge to the other side of the bay, and the best part of an hour on the next stage, post-purchasing, a distance of about 5 miles. Ridiculous. Anyway, got home without much time to spare to wrap some presents, spruce ourselves up and go out to a triple birthday party. Beautiful house, recently extended and renovated, and a garden in receipt of the tenderest care. Add excellent company, food and drink and you have all the ingredients for a great evening.

AND, took delivery of my nearly-new point and shoot camera, ordered from Amazon and brought down from the States by a friend. With my record for losing cameras, didn't reckon I deserved a new one. However, planned obsolescence has made another victim. I thought I was cannily ordering one that would make use of my spare battery and leads. Fat chance! Same make, model, battery series and all, but camera and battery are both slimmer models and the bastards wretched manufacturers (Sony) have changed the size of the terminal on the lead. WHY!!! Stupid question, of course, it's to force idiots like me to buy everything new every time.

Anyway, I now have a neat little machine to carry around with me and am guardedly happy. All I have to do is buy a new battery...and leads (unless I can change the terminal)...and SD card.
