Monkey see, monkey do
Something disagreed with me last night no, it wasn't Mr A, so much so that I was on & off the loo most of the night.
That makes for a tired & grumpy DQ today! I almost rang in sick, but as I only work til lunch I decided to stick it out rather than let people down.
All I wanted to do was go home to bed, but I had my gym review booked and again didn't want to cancel so reluctantly off I went.
I'd only just put my stuff in the locker, when the fire alarm went off! We were rounded up at the emergency exit 'just in case', until the all clear was given. I should have legged it down the fire escape!!
I hadn't planned to do much at the gym, given that I was tired and had an empty stomach (apart from the banana, pictured - more on that later), but my new PT, Sarah, had other ideas!
At my initial session, I was asked likes & dislikes, then talked through the various exercises he recommended for me. Sarah asked me the same, but then made me do the exercises while she supervised! No pressure!!
She really wasn't the sort that would tolerate excuses (however valid) so I had to grin & bear it.
One of my grumbles was that I don't feel the aches and pains the next day; with that she scrapped my existing programme and wrote me a new one; I have to run though at this point I insisted on not doing, as the twins weren't suitably strapped in and get to grips with free weights too.
It's a case of 'careful what you wish for' but I think as a woman, she maybe understands what I'm wanting to achieve (no offence to the male PT's) and if I feel achy I may be more inclined to continue, as up til now, I didn't feel like I was getting anywhere.
Now for the banana.....
Apparently we eat them wrong! We saw this a couple of weeks ago and it's changed the way we eat bananas (amongst other things). We all usually snap the big stalk of the banana to peel it, but we should do as the monkeys do and peel from the bottom. It's so much easier and less stringy too!
Chicken wings are our next trial (tomorrow)!
