Yep. It's like that.

Still early days back at school for little dude after the six week summer break, and he has been wiped out most afternoons, having a nap after school.
I needed the same today, as today was my first official day as the grade 5&6 Drama teacher and year 7&8 Photography teacher. 90 minutes of classes, and I was wrecked. How the hell did I used to manage school as a student living more than an hour bus trip from school!? How the hell does little dude manage and not normally need a nap!?
Exhaustion aside, it was a day I will never forget.
My drama kids were wonderful and we had a lot of fun - one of the kids approched me after class to say I'm their new favourite teacher because I make learning really, really fun... And asked for my birthday so that I can be given a card. Very sweet, and validated the reason I am doing this. I knew that if I got through to even ONE of my kids, it would be a win.
The older kids were a bit of a challenge, with half being complete time wasters which was difficult, but I managed, and all the other teachers praised me for how well my first day went.
Three hours of classes on Thursday.... I'm going to need a LOT of coffee.

Now.... For sleep.
