Saturday Strong-arm

It was another windy day in Florida. Warm...77F...but windy.

After a church rummage sale, and a craft show...I started to hit my favorite bird spots.

Spot #1...nothing.
Spot #2...nothing.
Spot #3...more of the same.

Time to hit the guaranteed spot. Or...so I thought. Not much there either. One more spot...and I was going to hit the dusty trail home.

Finally found a few birds...and with the setting sun creating some good reflections...snapped a few.

I was trying to post anything but a pelican...but I like this shot. The 3 big white pelicans are closely shadowing the little brown. The brown had just snared a tasty fish morsel, and the whites are swooping in for the steal. They didn't succeed. I especially like the extra set of eyes in the reflection. Kind of spooky.

The giant egret take-off was my second choice, and the little snowy egret was choice #3. Those, and other pictures...are on my FLICKR PAGE. I can't believe the snowy was actually trying to pick off flies that were landing on the netting. YECHH!!
