Sonograms

My day started with a morning lectures. We got released a little early, so I had a rare opportunity to catch up on some TV while waiting for the afternoon of ultrasounds to begin.

I have come to really enjoy sonography. I think a lot of my new found love for it dates to working with the tech in the vascular surgeon's office. He was an excellent teacher. I consequently feel like I have a much better idea what I'm doing and seeing now. However, going into this I still felt rather uncomfortable doing and reading pregnancy sonos,

Today I got to watch a few pregnancy sonos performed by an excellent tech. She did a great job narrating the experience for me and the nurse midwife that were observing. I am getting slightly better at recognizing the internal structures of a fetus.

This is the biggest ultrasound machine I've seen. Really neat set up. It gets better pictures than the SonoSite machines that I'm used to.
