Day in London

Stupid-o-clock start this morning for a 7am train out of Manchester to London. It was one of those nights where I knew I had to sleep but I woke every hour to check the time as I was anxious. So annoying.

Had a press launch at the Covent Garden Hotel (pictured). Sadly attendance was poor after yesterday's tube strike had a knock on effect for journalists' workloads today.

It wasn't really worth the expense of travelling or my time to the client so left feeling really guilty. Will probably reduce their invoice for today as nothing worse than a client feeling ripped off!

I have never left Manchester when Audrey's been in nursery before and I loathed it. She was so far away and it was such a long day for her in nursery. I honestly felt a searing pain in my chest whenever I thought about her and how far away she was.

I love my work but when it comes to Audrey, it might as well not exist. She comes first (second and third).
