Happy Birthday, Helena !!!!
The stormy start to the day was made more memorable as it was a big birthday for Woodpeckers. I'd promised to drive her to her job at the school, because she had to transport the lovely looking lemon drizzle cake which she had baked yesterday to share with her school colleagues. She even added a bonus of some chocolate flavoured oat flapjacks which she'd baked this morning. I must admit to not understanding this ritual, whereby the person with a birthday has to provide their own cakes for everyone else to eat. I thought a birthday meant you were pampered! Apparently it all went well.
Before we left Helena laid out some cards and the drizzle cake on the table and I thought it would make a good blip for me, as well as her, because time would be short given my very busy day ahead. After my big meetings I returned home in time to watch 'Pointless' with her, and was given the last slice of the cake, and it was delicious. Now I have only a few minutes to write this entry before taking Helena out for a meal at a newish local restaurant. We may have a drink too!
Happy Birthday, Helena. You are such a wonderful star.
