All You Need Is Love (Part Two)

Today I'm proud to work for the Scottish Government for bringing forward legislation for equal marriage.

I'm proud of the Scottish Parliament for passing the Marriage and Civil Partnership Act with a vote of 105 for, 18 against. The third stage debate today has been marked by civility and good humour.

I join with others in thanking the Equality Network, Stonewall Scotland and LGBT Youth Scotland for their advocacy.

I pay tribute to the small team of civil servants who have worked so very hard over the last two and a half years to bring this bill to Parliament. They are truly unsung heroes.

Hurrah for Scotland!
