High Dartmoor in the Snow

From home I could see snow on the high moor this morning and there being no group walk today I decided to go up to Great Links Tor - this is one of my favourite areas and I have been there before after snow has fallen.

I was not disappointed with what I saw. As expected this was a different world - lots of snow on the high moor but none in lower areas around the moor. There was a bitterly cold wind and the sky was ominous with huge dark clouds and bright sunshine.

This was taken from Higher Dunna Goat looking across Amicombe Hill with Fur Tor in the distance (just left of centre). For many Fur Tor is regarded as the centre of the high moor. This was a wonderful exhilarating walk. There are a few more on my blog mydartmoorwalks.blogspot.co.uk

Much better large.
