The Daily Fox ...

A very interesting day!

It was sunny! Again!

In the morning I rushed out to the park and had fun as ever, photographing the mayhem as people fed the ducks.

I got a shot of this rather lovely goosander.

As I was leaving the park an elderly chap called to me 'What's the bird of the day?' - so rather than slinking off in my Londony way, I stopped for a chat with him.

What a fascinating man! He used to be a warden on Spurn in the 1960s .. he is an amateur painter and is well travelled. He's about to have an exhibition of his African wildlife paintings (I'm invited to the private preview!) in aid of a children's charity in Lesotho.

He said if I didn't mind going to the house of a strange man he'd give me a copy of his book. So off I went with him, and his disabled person's helping dog, to his house!

He showed me some of his paintings (pretty good!) and we had a good chat. Here's the copy of his book he signed and gave me!

In the afternoon I headed off to good old Sunk Island and was very excited to see this gorgeous short eared owl :)

Here are a few more shots of him.
