Shanghai: Something in the Air

To end our Shanghai overnight dash a visit to Yuyuan Garden (the old town) was necessary, just to check Chinese New Year tourist numbers were robust - um, yes they are!

The haze you see is not low cloud or winter mist, it's pollution. The little girl with the mask has that on not because she's sick (which is common in this part of the world) but because of the pollution danger. A very sad thing for a city that was my home for six years and now makes me feel ill staying just one night. Come on China - fix this!
