Eye on the target
The boys went for a couple of ends today and it just makes me want to get my archery certificate! I am slowly getting used to the lingo as it actually does interest me. Unlike the computer games they play, which requires lingo that sounds to me like a foreign language. Archery has the attraction of being slightly dangerous, it's social(since they are members of the local club) but individual, it triggers the hunter deep-down inside you and it doesn't make you break out in a sweat, unless you're in the New Zealand summer sun without a hat!
My oldest has shown an interest in the requirements to take part in competition and is setting himself goals to achieve. The youngest had a major issue with his sight settings and ended up shooting pictures rather then arrows after a couple of ends. I enjoy watching the boys work out the challenges that shooting arrows throw at them and look forward to shoot alongside them soon.
