Catching the last bit of sunshine....

...that lights up a random bit of grass in my garden. It has been another beautiful day and this weekend is my last one of 3 weeks holidays. I realised the last time I had more then a week at a time off work was 'only' 5 years ago. So, this break should have me all charged up to cope with life for a while.

I watched my husband giving my boys a hands-on experience in choosing tomatoes out of a box of cheap ones. He got them to feel the firmness, without squeezing the tomatoes, gently rolling them around in your hand to feel for bruises and soft spots, looking at the skin for damage and blemishes, and looking for a good shiny one. "Just in case I fall under a bus before next weeks market", he said, so they know which tomatoes to leave and which to buy.

I think if a bus would be in the story, we'll be doing other things then worrying about blemishes on tomatoes but a teachable moment had taken place. One of many that happen at any given time in the week, weekend, night, early morning,....
