Office Shenanigans
One of the departments at my work hosts an annual Halloween costume contest. They go all out and decorate the office to the nines and EVERYONE dresses up. I have the reputation as unofficial photographer so they asked me to come over and take photos.
As the party got started a delegation of about 30 Chinese buiness men and women who were on a leadership tour of some sort saw what was going on and came in to check it out. They were utterly amazed and pleased beyond belief that they had found themselves in the middle of an American office Halloween costume party. My colleague Dave, dressed up as Ron Burgundy from the movie Anchorman, was a major hit with them. I'm sure they had no clue who he was supposed to be but they ALL wanted photos with him - I think it was the red suit and wig that won them over. I love how you can see in this photo how they are all surrounding him, holding cameras!
It was pretty fun. We enjoyed showing the delegation how to decorate skull cookies and walk cube to cube for a trick or treat. And yeah, my office goes far out for most holidays . . . sometimes it really does feel like I belong in an episode of "The Office".
By the way, I didn't dress up so I had to keep repeating over and over that I was "wearing a photographer costume." Oy vey.
