Trunk covered in moss

Suddenly, out of the blue, a cloudless day, bright and chill. After a lazy morning reading the Saturday papers, we got out for a walk in the Great Wood which is just down the lane from the cottage. I took a handful of photos but this picture of a mossy trunk came out the best.
The moss seems particularly green and thick this spring, in part because we have had virtually no frost, and in the bright afternoon light it glows like velvet.
