Woke up a bit late, lovely to have a lie in and then wake up gently...we made some fresh coffee and then rediscovered the wonderful Reith lectures 2014 by Dr Atul Gawande, available for listening here if you are interested. His basic thesis is that technology and knowledge have vastly outstripped our capacity to apply and make use of them; in particular he applies this to his field of medicine. He is involved in developing systems to improve our use of what is already known. An inspiring speaker. 
It was beautifully clear early on but soon heavy grey purple clouds moved in. Although we missed the best of the weather, we got out for a ride later (in full foul weather gear), hurtling down the lanes in amongst the wintry showers. Good for the soul.
