"The Old Wharf" ...

...Down along the riverbank there today..possibly better to look on LARGE...the dry leaves on the lawns there are not due to Autumn - but due to the heat..

...This is where the old paddle steamers leave from every day, one walks along the wharf there to board, you can see the vehicles there in the carpark belonging to some of the travellers..she's obviously on her way upstream or downstream..Rothbury's on duty today..

...I thought I'd take this capture today down at the riverbank where it was cool as it's been quite warm lately - our thermometer tells us 39degC. under the verandah but for the people resting on the lawns in the shade, not shown here, it would be a relief down there..and with lots of little waterbirds for company too..

...I've processed the pic a little to make it look hopefully cooler for those who may take a look who are struggling with the heat of the day..maybe a cool river scene might help..

...And thankyou once again for your kind interest in my governessing stories pic (many more left) -and sending yesterday's blip into the Box of the Spotlight once again, I've been a glutton this week 3 times there in 4 days.. Yes, I love the Desert Sturt Peas as well..and I'm so pleased you enjoyed these pics..

...And so, today's blip was taken down amongst the waterbirds, and we had so many ducks right there with us, ready for a pat and maybe a little something?

... We gave them some water biscuits from the car, and a thousand seagulls appeared within seconds..where did they come from? .. Well, it seemed like a thousand..I do pity the poor little children with a bag of chips with these birds..I've seen their terror - but they're not as bad as the gulls along the seaside we've discovered..I think they're kept in line pretty well here..probably beaten up by the pelicans..
