Baby, it's cold outside!
I work in Trenton, the capital of New Jersey, just across the Delaware River from Pennsylvania. This is a view across the river as I have never seen it - it looks as if I am working in Alaska! The river is rather shallow and there are little islands dotted across it - that's why it appears that there is a tree growing out of the ice. The ice is nice close up.
I hate to bring up a sore subject for my British friends, but yes, this is the very river crossed by George Washington; in fact, there is a little town called "Washington's Crossing" just up the road from where I work.
I have the day off tomorrow and plan to do some bird watching with my girlfriends, as long as it's warm enough for the birds to come out of hiding!
Hope you are all staying warm and dry.
