Roof reeds

Brrrr, rain, sleet and fog in the sodden Oxfordshire countryside today. Had a fun time though, including some very slippery off-road driving in deep mud. Stopped near Banbury when I caught sight of some thatchers at work on a very geriatric-looking cottage roof. I always thought thatching was a fine weather job. They must have been freezing up there!

Was fascinated to watch how deftly this chap went about his work. The land around the cottage was water-logged, but hopefully the occupants will be snug and dry under their patch-repaired thatch.
