Barcelona

Today's main event was a lunchtime flight to Barcelona, where I collected the key to a Ford Focus ST in a fetching shade of 'Race Red'.

This evening a bunch of us who are driving cars back to the UK, at the tail end of the new model's launch programme, had a convivial supper in our hotel. It is sited up on a hill close by the Olympic Park, overlooking the city laid out like a twinkly carpet below. This is the hotel's unusual foyer.

Tomorrow we begin a drive over the Pyrenees and all the way up through France. Woman and machine in perfect harmony, hopefully. Looking forward to it!
