Scattered in the rain on a well-used path behind a suburban estate.

The contents of a toolbox? Nuts, screws, washers and bolts. Rawlplugs, sink plugs, door knobs and switch plates.

I suspect it was part of the haul from a burglarised garden shed dropped or jettisoned whilst pursued, sunk in the mud by dog-walkers trudging to the fields through the ceaseless rain.
