Beech Forest, Maruia Springs.

This is old New Zealand Mountain Beech forest, growing where it's grown for many decades, with the road to the South Island West Coast wending its way down from the Lewis Pass. It's a wonderful sight and I doubly enjoyed it, as there were bellbirds singing where I stopped. I'm on my way to Nelson.
