Distant Relative.

Back to work again today but after a very early start I have an afternoon off in an area close enough to pay my Aunt a visit. In a room she has several old family portraits. The lady in this painting was a relative of my Grandmother and the painting is believed to date from around 1760.

When we were little and used to visit my Grandmother her house always seemed a little intimidating at first as the figures in the portraits always seemed to be watching us! However, they are now familiar, especially to my Dad and Aunt as they grew up always seeing them.
