UHA Family Fun Day

Back to the windy and wet weather again and the Shetland coastguard said there's been gusts up to 100 knots!

A fun packed day in the Shetland Museum today at work with hundreds of visitors in, locals and tourists :)  We had our annual Up Helly Aa Family Fun Day, the bairns get to make Viking helmets, shields, torches and clay pendants.  Also guided tours of the museum and even Viking demonstrations of weaving and drop spinning.  

After the bairns had fun making their crafts, they were led by Trevor and brother Clive Jamieson (pictured in the centre with guitars) around the museum for the procession.  Singing and torches thrown, what a great day :)  Taken in the Shetland Museum foyer.
