Silhouette

A silhouette is the image of a person, an object or scene represented as a solid shape of a single colour, usually black, its edges matching the outline of the subject (Wikipedia).

I stuck a reflector to the window focussed on it, pressed the shutter on a twelve second delay and then moved in front of the reflector. The camera has to focus on the background first otherwise it will focus on the face and give it too much detail. I could have taken out the background around the reflector but I liked the fact that it also says something about what I was doing. Playing with my camera on a rainy day.

I couldn’t decide which one of us should be the subject of the silhouette, me or Igor, so we both took turns to step into the circle. I hate my nose. I manage not to think about it most of the time but if I ever glimpse my profile there it is. My Dad’s nose!! Igor hates his chin. He thinks it sticks out too much and makes his nose look small.

Here we both are, being brave and letting the world see our “warty” selves!!! Igor thinks the image is like an eighteenth century open locket.
