Time in Brass
2. A time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot.
4. A time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance.
6. A time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away.
8. A time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace. Ecclesiastes 3
When I saw this brass calender at a garage sale for a dollar...it was a time to buy. I thought I would put it into my den to keep track of the date. But, as I found myself sticking the peg into the correct day...I let negativity creep in. Another day lost...another day lost...another day lost. The date "hole" was dragging me into it.
On our way home from volleyball this week, Shelley's husband Al was talking about having a conversation with his son...and...using a football term...about being in the last quarter of life.
HOLD THE SIDELINE PHONE!!! Al is 60 years old...and...SO AM I! Am I in the last quarter too?
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven. Eccl. 3:1
I don't think it's good to think TOO much about our mortality. If you do...you run the risk of letting it depress you.
Live your life. Be content. Be happy. When the time's up...it'll be up.
