After a truely confusing lecture about photographic theory, I headed down to the library to get out my weekly reading books! Decided I should just spend some nights in the library by the photography section with my legs crossed and back hunched over some books.
My friend, and course mate Malena has started up a peaceful protest and demonstration in Edinburgh to raise awareness of canned hunting. Truely disturbing topic throughout the media at the moment. For those of you who don't know, canned hunting is when lions are brought up in an enclosure to then be shot by 'trophy' hunters who look to bring back the corpse to their home country and hang it on their wall for the glory. The bones of the lion will usually be sent to China for 'medicines'. Lions in South Africa, where this canned hunting mostly takes place, are now said to be critically endangerd. I've happily agreed to photograph the event in March!
