Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Housework. Happily.

Didn’t risk the gym this morning - my iPod wasn’t charged, so I would have had to put up with head banging NOISE - not Gordon’s morning - and that raises my blood pressure more than the cross trainer!

I did however, spend all morning pottering about, doing housework. The dizziness excuse no longer holds water - and I am very delighted about that! Visitors are popping in this afternoon, and so I was left with instructions, both explicit (no washing to be on the pulley) and implicit (do NOT be wearing your normal attire of old faded jeans and that old tatty cardigan).

I have finally discovered how to hoover the carpet runners. I’ve hoovered many carpets and rugs in my day, but runners are another thing. They get up and attack me every time! But I’ve got them sussed now - stand on 'em and hoover away from you. Duh!

JR announced that last night she heard noises from the fridge. And not for the first time. Like a cat. Or perhaps a baby...

Should I be worried?

These roses deserve another blip - they’re amazing. We got them on the day after we got back from Africa - almost three weeks ago. They’re beginning to look a bit past it now (aren’t we all) so they’re removed to the semi- darkness of the hallway.

Oops. Just realised that I have forgotten to do the dusting. Better whizz around in record time.

Wine may be taken this afternoon. Dizziness, if it occurs, will be self-inflicted.
