Distant farmhouse
The Sahorre valley next to us is an offshoot of the main Tet valley. The Tet valley with its rich alluvial deposits and high summer temperatures is famous for its extensive cultivation of peaches, nectarines and apricots. The Sahorre valley is just that bit higher and it is here that the apple orchards are found. Slightly further away from the Pyrenean chain are the Agly and Aude valleys where most of the well known Languedoc Roussillon wines are produced. Our own valley has the fast flowing Cady running through it. There is very little agriculture in this valley, possibly because it is on the Canigou massif and has its own microclimate. A few kilometres of distance or a few metres of height can make all the difference.
