Light at the end of the tunnel
Light at the end of the tunnel
Today's photo was taken as I stood at traffic lights in my car. I love this view as it's a view through an the arches of an old bridge on the seafront in Swansea and it always frames the view out across the beach to the sea just perfectly.
It's such an amazing photo for today as today really was a case of finally being able to see the light at the end of what has been a long hard struggle of a tunnel with the light always feeling beyond my reach. Today marked a turning point for me and my partner and finally we seem to be able to see something to look forward to.
This person has been in my life for years and years, a constant source of support when I've been at my lowest whilst also having the crown as being the "person who brings the most stress into my life" too! We've been through lots of crisis points and we've recently dealt with one that nearly knocked us off course forever but I'm pleased to say that we're as strong as I thought we were. Our brief chat turned into 9 hours of talking, tears and truths ( and for a change it wasn't me exploring my feelings) and I think we've come out the other side being so much clearer about who we are as individuals and what we are when we're together. I'm not denying that we've got some tough times ahead of us but now I know we will be in it together whether it works out the way we want it to or not!
It really is good to share your wants, desires, feelings and fears, it doesn't mean you can always make everything right but if you both know what page you are on (even if it's a different page) then you can move forward and make the best decisions even if one of you needs to be patient or the other needs to hurry themselves up!
I'm not saying our chat was all roses and fairy tales and it's not as if we don't have regrets in wasting many years but we can't change the past, just the way we are now. We've both had our own struggles recently, some together, some in our own separate minds but were both learning to live in the present and stop worrying what the future may hold. It's definitely time for me to live for today again and I'm ready for it!
