Gratitude gifts

Today I received a lovely parcel from that lady I love Cath Kidston which brought a smile to my face on yet another dark rainy day.

This photo is a photo of the parcel wrapping because I haven't opened it yet as it's a birthday present from someone special so I now have to wait two weeks before I can open it! I know what it it is but still the urge to open it is pretty compelling in a pathetically immature way.

I have to say I love receiving things in the post, cards, letters, small tokens of friendship all make me smile and feel appreciated but it's the giving of gifts I love the most. The stress of the last couple of years has meant I've been extra rubbish at sending cards and presents even when the person is someone I think about all the time as the stress levels have messed with my short term memory, it sounds a lame excuse but I genuinely have forgotten all sorts of strange things even when I've desperately needed to remember them, it's a new part of me I'm not quite ready to accept so I'm going to keep fighting to get my memory back. Oh well there are worse things than forgetting a birthday!

This year I'm going to make a better effort and today I was thrilled to receive a text this afternoon thanking me for some flowers I had arranged three days ago to send someone dear for their birthday today. I do really hope she liked them, they were sent with love and It helped me realise that the good feelings I get from giving are priceless and should do it often and always sealed with love.

This year is going to be the year I show my gratitude to everyone who supports me so look out peeps 2014 is officially Lindsay's Gratitude Gift Year
