Ballet Performance Awards

The girl woke up sick in the middle of Wednesday night. She stayed home from school on Thursday. I took her to the clinic on Friday. Strep throat.

She has been working for months on her exercises and dances for the American Academy of Ballet performance awards program. Saturday was the day. She was definitely not 100% and hadn't practiced in several days, but we decided, with advice from the clinician, that she could do it if she felt up to it.

So, not her best performance, but she did it! She was awarded a silver medal and was disappointed to learn that it wasn't real silver.

These are the girls she danced her exercises with. She's known them for years now. I hope they all keep dancing for quite a bit longer.
