Portland
Late start to the day after a great night out.
We took a trip down to Portland, picking Mr Lovely's eldest son, Lee, up on the way.
The pirates graveyard intrigued me, but sadly, most of the headstones had worn with time and weather, so were unreadable. One tomb had a skull and crossbones on though. Will have to research the history more, but from the coastline you could see why smuggling and skulduggery abounded.
Stories of shipwrecks and lost souls to the sea are all around the lighthouse which now safely guides vessels away from the rocks.
Would like to say we had a lovely lunch, but a very unimpressive carvery at The Pulpit, with overcooked veg, dried out meat and dodgy roast potatoes has given two out of three of us food poisoning. Eat there at your peril!
Life's pretty good, and why wouldnt it be? I'm a pirate, after all.
