Time for a change? Honey Pomelo?

About six inches in diameter, and with a skin a bit like a cross between a grapefruit and an orange. Well that is what a Honey Pomelo looks like. It has a very thick, but soft fleshy skin with quite a tough membrane separating the segments. And the taste? Not as sharp as a grapefruit, and really quite nice.

This one was bought in either Aldi or Lidl recently by Mrs TPV, and it made a welcome fruit change. We have had them before some time ago, but unlike many fruits in this country are quite seasonal in their availability.

I have to admit I am sometimes less than adventurous in my appetite for new things, but this is one that is definitely worth a try. Provided you don't beat me to the last one in the shop that is!
