A Dipper for a Blipper

In a cold mountain stream there were 3 of these White-throated Dippers performing their water ballet between the rocks and under the water. The temperatures were around freezing today. Dippers must have a strong constitution for such a tiny bird. On one of my photos it is possible to see a white membrane over the eyes. It acquired its name from sudden bobbing dips, not from its diving habit.

Large if you like, it was a long way off.
