The Toadstools.
This blip nearly got away. I eventually found it in the recycle bin.
Once again, I have no idea what it is; I even downloaded a guide to fungi identification but it was little help, I'll need to spend a significant sum of money to get a useful book (probably more than ten bob - that’s an old Jack Benny joke - it must be an old joke, he died of pancreatic cancer nearly forty years ago). It is a complete coincidence but, I’m writing this a few days late having just heard the sad news of the death of Roger Lloyd-Pack (Trigger from “Only Fools and Horses”) from the same disease.
Benny was a lovely man, despite his public persona he was very generous and happy to be the butt of any joke to be told either by him, or about him; a favourite story he used came from the mouth of violinist, Isaac Stern, who said, "You know, Jack, when you walk out in front of a symphony orchestra in white tie and tails and your violin, you actually look like one of the world's great violinists. It's a damned shame you have to play!"
Lloyd-Pack made a late career of playing simpletons but was quite at home treading the boards in Shakespearean roles.
Now how did I get here from mushrooms?
